Background information about 'Formidonis Nex Cultus'
Singapore's extreme metal veterans Impiety unleash their devastating fourth studio album "Formidonis Nex Cultus", a relentless assault that perfectly encapsulates their two-decade journey through the darkest corners of metal. Led by the indomitable Shyaithan, who handles vocals, guitar, and production duties, this 2007 release showcases the band's signature blend of blackened death metal with thrash undertones that has made them legends in Southeast Asia's underground scene. The album opens with the punishing "Genocidio Primero" and never lets up, delivering eight tracks of pure sonic brutality that demonstrate why Impiety has remained a force to be reckoned with in the extreme metal world.
The production, handled at Black Zone Studios, gives each instrument the space to breathe while maintaining that raw, uncompromising edge that defines the band's sound. Mike Priest's guitar work is particularly noteworthy, with his lead solos cutting through the mix like razors, while the rhythm section of Iron Sheikh on bass and Tremor on drums provides a thunderous foundation. Tracks like "Terror. Death. Worship!" and "B.O.A.R (Beast Of Abominable Regiments)" showcase the band's ability to balance technical proficiency with pure aggression, creating an album that's both musically sophisticated and utterly devastating.
