Background information about 'Not Alone'

There is a moment, somewhere deep in the first side of "Not Alone", where John Coffey stop shouting long enough to let a single guitar line breathe — and that is exactly when the record grabs you by the collar. The Dutch four-piece have spent years building a reputation as one of the most physically overwhelming live acts in Europe, the kind of band whose sweat ends up on the ceiling of the Melkweg, and here they finally bottle that chaos without losing a drop of it. The riffs come thick and ragged, the rhythm section never quite sits still, and the vocals swing between a bark and a plea, which is precisely the point: this is hardcore that wants you in the room, not at a distance.

What lifts the album above the usual bruiser is its refusal to be merely angry. The songs circle around connection — the realisation that somebody out there feels exactly what you feel, whether you find that through a partner, a friendship, a helpline or a room full of strangers screaming the same words. Talking helps. Singing helps. Shouting along at the top of your lungs helps. Tracks like "Push Push Push" and "All Bark, No Bite" land like a shoulder to the chest, while "Hope In – Fear Out" shows the band can build tension instead of just detonating it. It is loud, it is dirty, and it is genuinely warm-hearted underneath all that noise.
