The songwriting here is vintage Kamelot with a darker pulse. From the sweeping cinematic grandeur of Ashen World to the intimate, introspective pull of Sanctuary, the album balances orchestral weight with the kind of hooks that made bands like this legendary in the first place. Producer Sascha Paeth is back behind the board with Jacob Hansen on mix and mastering, and the guest list reads like a who's who of modern metal: Ignacia Fernandez of Decessus lends her voice to two tracks, Clementine Delauney of Visions Of Atlantis joins for a stunning duet on Sanctuary, and Eluveitie's Lea-Sophie Fischer adds haunting violin to Beneath the Moon (Tunglið).
