Background information about 'Mortem Solis'
Brazilian death metal titans Krisiun return with their devastating tenth studio offering "Mortem Solis", a relentless assault that showcases why they remain one of extreme metal's most formidable forces. The Kolesne brothers have crafted an album that perfectly balances their signature brutality with newfound sophistication, delivering crushing riffs and thunderous rhythms that feel both familiar and refreshingly evolved. Tracks like "Serpent Messiah" and "Temple Of The Abattoir" demonstrate the band's ability to weave intricate guitar work into their trademark sonic devastation, while maintaining the raw intensity that has defined their three-decade career.
The album's production captures every nuance of Krisiun's ferocious performance, from the bone-crushing double bass work to the razor-sharp guitar tones that slice through the mix with surgical precision. "Mortem Solis" stands as a testament to the band's unwavering commitment to pushing death metal boundaries while respecting the genre's foundational elements. The atmospheric intro "Dawn Sun Carnage" provides a brief respite before launching into some of the most punishing material in their discography, proving that Krisiun continues to evolve without compromising their devastating core sound.
