Background information about 'Carnage'
Swedish death metal powerhouse Lik delivers an absolutely crushing sophomore effort with "Carnage", an album that grabs you by the throat from the opening riff and never lets go. These Stockholm veterans know exactly how to craft old-school death metal that hits like a sledgehammer while maintaining that infectious groove that keeps your head banging throughout the entire runtime. Tracks like "To Kill" and "Rid You Of Your Flesh" showcase the band's ability to balance crushing brutality with memorable songwriting that sticks with you long after the final note fades.
What sets "Carnage" apart from countless other death metal releases is Lik's masterful understanding of dynamics and atmosphere. The production gives each crushing riff room to breathe while maintaining that raw, unpolished edge that makes death metal so visceral. Songs like "Celebration Of The Twisted" and "Death Cult" demonstrate the band's range, moving seamlessly between mid-paced crushers and full-throttle assaults. The rhythm section provides an absolutely rock-solid foundation that allows the guitars to explore both melodic passages and punishing heaviness with equal conviction.
