Background information about 'Elixir Of Sorrow'
LUNAR AURORA is a name that resonates deeply within the annals of atmospheric black metal. Formed in the ethereal mists of 1994 and laid to rest in 2012, this German outfit crafted a discography brimming with enigmatic soundscapes. Their fifth opus "Elixir of Sorrow", originally unleashed upon the world in 2004 through The Oath and Deviant Records, stands as a testament to their unparalleled artistry. This reissue brings forth not only the original tracks but also previously unreleased gems from the same recording sessions.
The music itself is an alchemical blend of grim black metal interwoven with symphonic flourishes, ambient atmospheres, and modern classical influences — a potent concoction that mesmerizes and haunts in equal measure. Remastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony, this edition on double black vinyl serves both as a relic for longstanding devotees and an invitation for new listeners to traverse its mysterious corridors.
