Background information about 'Ars Moriendi'
Lunar Aurora, a stalwart of the German black metal scene, crafted an exceptional opus with "Ars Moriendi," originally emerging in 2001. This album encapsulates the very essence of darkness and mystery that the band is revered for. The music oscillates between atmospheric grandeur and aggressive ferocity, offering a symphonic blend of ambient and modern classical elements within its grim tapestry. Recorded at the renowned Tonstudio Hörnix alongside peers like ABIGOR and SUMMONING, it serves as a testament to the profound artistry thriving in early 2000s Germany.
The re-release on black wax preserves this masterpiece's original layout while benefiting from fresh vinyl mastering by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony. "Ars Moriendi" stands majestic and defiant—a confluence of wayward aggression and haunting beauty that is both distinctive and timeless in its execution.
