Background information about 'The Conquering Darkness'
When legends collide, something truly devastating emerges from the darkness. Malefic Throne's debut "The Conquering Darkness" isn't just another death metal album – it's a masterclass in brutality forged by three titans of the genre. Gene Palubicki (Angelcorpse, Perdition Temple) delivers his most ferocious riffwork yet, while Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel) unleashes his signature growls over John Longstreth's (Origin, Hate Eternal) thunderous percussion assault. This unholy trinity first crossed paths at Morrisound Studios in '97, and their reunion two decades later proves that some bonds are forged in hellfire.
The eight tracks on "The Conquering Darkness" showcase a band that refuses to play it safe. From the blasphemous opener "Blasphémait Desecration" to the crushing finale "Forged of Stone", this is death metal stripped of pretense and delivered with surgical precision. Palubicki's bestial approach gets a sinister twist here, incorporating creeping horror elements that'll send chills down your spine before the next blast beat obliterates everything in its path. Tucker's towering vocal presence commands every moment, while Longstreth's drumwork is nothing short of inhuman.
