Master are back, and they are absolutely not sorry about it. Paul Speckmann has been flying the flag for old-school death metal since the late eighties, and "Among the Seeds of Death" is his sixteenth full-length slab of uncompromising, genre-defining brutality. This is the follow-up to the excellent "Saints Dispelled" from 2024, and it picks up right where that record left off. Nothing has changed here, and that is exactly the point. Trends come and go, but Speckmann just keeps his head down and delivers exactly what Master has always been about: razor-sharp death metal laced with intense thrash energy that practically dares you to keep your head still.

The quality of the songwriting on "Among the Seeds of Death" is undeniable. From the crushing opener "Twas Always a Plan" to the relentless title track and the venomous closer "Let's Revoke," every single track lands with the kind of precision that only decades of experience can bring. Tracks like "Injustice and Lack of Remorse" and "Watch as Children Burn" show that Master still has plenty of fire in the belly, mixing groove, aggression, and that unmistakable Speckmann vocal delivery into something that feels both timeless and vital.
