Athenar and his masked cohorts have never been a band that cares about polish, and this record is the proof: raw, blown-out, and absolutely dripping with attitude. What you get here is the sound of a basement show colliding with a sleaze-punk riot, all fuzzed-out riffs, sneered vocals, and drums that sound like they were recorded through a wall of cheap amps. It is ugly in the best possible way, and that is exactly the point.
The set leans on the band's knack for writing hooks that stick in your head even while everything around them is falling apart. Tracks tumble into each other with barely a breath, and the crowd noise bleeds into every riff, giving the whole thing a sweaty, beer-soaked intimacy that a studio album simply cannot fake.
