Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: when Murder Squad dropped Ravenous Murderous back in 2003, the Death Metal scene was in desperate need of a good, old-fashioned kick in the teeth. And boy, did these Swedish maniacs deliver. Formed by members of ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, and MERCILESS, this was never meant to be a polite affair. This was a filthy, booze-soaked love letter to AUTOPSY, plain and simple.

What makes Ravenous Murderous stand out from its predecessor is that it doesn't just borrow from AUTOPSY — it feels like an unreleased AUTOPSY record unearthed from some forgotten crypt. The legendary Chris Reifert himself jumped into the studio, laying down vocals, guitars, and drums alongside the band. The result is a gloriously rotten slab of Death Metal that reeks of decay, morbidity, and a complete disregard for political correctness. Adorned with a disgustingly beautiful cover by the late Timo Ketola, this album is a masterclass in raw, untamed aggression. Tracks like \u201cRavenous, Murderous\u201d and \u201cShitstorm\u201d hit with the force of a sledgehammer to the skull, while \u201cBorn In Sewage, Bred In Bile\u201d is exactly as vile as you'd hope. This is Death Metal for those who remember when the genre was actually dangerous.
