Background information about 'The Lucifer Principle (Redux)'

Ten years after it first clawed its way out of the ground, "The Lucifer Principle" returns rebuilt from the bones up — and it hits harder than ever. Originally tracked in 2014 and released in 2016, this was the record where PANZERFAUST stopped being a promising band and became a fully formed entity, the seed from which the entire Suns of Perdition tetralogy would eventually grow. The remix and remaster by original producer Greg Dawson at BWC Studios gives the material a sharper, more suffocating presence, while Alexander Kartashov's freshly recorded drums at Deadwing Studios in Berlin add a restless, muscular pulse that feels inseparable from the band's identity. What strikes you first is the sheer weight of it: riffs that grind and lurch, atmosphere that hangs like smoke in a cold room, and a sense of conviction that never once wavers.

The four original pieces still carry their grim, philosophical charge, named after Howard Bloom's study of genetics, human behaviour and culture, and they sound more relevant now than they did a decade ago. But the real gut punch arrives with the epilogue "All Grounds Zeroed" — a final addendum to the tetralogy, described by the band itself as the last coffin nail. It closes a chapter with real finality, and knowing this was the last testament of the original lineup only deepens the mood. The Johnny Cash cover is a highlight too, twisted into something dark and ceremonial rather than merely covered. Pressed on classic black 180g vinyl with a coated solid sleeve, a 12-page LP-sized booklet with lyrics and a designed download card, this is a proper artefact for people who still care about the physical ritual. A foundation stone, re-laid with care.
