Background information about 'The Lucifer Principle (Redux)'
Ten years after Panzerfaust first set "The Lucifer Principle" loose on the world, the Canadian black metal outfit returns to the record that quietly built the foundation for everything that followed. Originally tracked in 2014 and released in 2016, this was the moment the band stopped being a promising name and became a force with a vision — the hinge on which the whole Suns of Perdition tetralogy would eventually swing. Hearing it again, remixed and remastered by original producer Greg Dawson at BWC Studios, you can feel that restless becoming in every riff.
The redux doesn't just polish the past, it reopens it. Drummer Alexander Kartashov re-recorded every drum track at Deadwing Studios in Berlin, threading his own unmistakable pulse through the record while keeping its rhythmic spine intact — and the result hits harder, dirtier and more alive than the original ever could. The four original pieces still snarl with that cold, philosophical fury, and closing the album is the newly added epilogue "All Grounds Zeroed", the final nail in the coffin of the Suns saga. It's a rare thing: a reissue that actually deepens the story instead of just repackaging it.
