Background information about 'First Spell'
Gehenna's "First Spell" stands as a seminal work within the Black Metal genre, marking a defining moment for the band and establishing their presence on the global stage. Released initially in 1994 by Metalion's renowned label 'Head Not Found', this EP captures the essence of atmospheric darkness with an array of deep, immersive tracks. From the chilling echoes of "The Shivering Voice Of The Ghost" to the haunting melodies of "Unearthly Loose Palace", each track is a testament to Gehenna's mastery over mood and melody.
The EP showcases a unique blend of macabre themes intertwined with intricate keyboard arrangements courtesy of Sarcana—the band's keyboard maestro. The remastering by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony ensures that every note resonates with clarity, breathing new life into this timeless classic. Accompanied by a comprehensive 16-page booklet featuring exclusive interviews and rare photographs, along with an A2 poster and download code, "First Spell" is an essential acquisition for any dedicated Black Metal enthusiast.
