Background information about 'Kostogher'

Two years after "Fran marder"'s release, Arckanum's second album "Kostogher" emerged as a more primal and savage beast than its predecessor. While maintaining the distinctive Arckanum trademarks established on "Trulen" and "Fran marder", this release introduces new elements that push the boundaries even further. The production on "Kostogher" deliberately embraces filth and rawness, creating a harsh sound that marries the primitive aggression of "Trulen" with vigorous studio production techniques.

Compared to the cleaner approach of "Fran marder", "Kostogher" comes across as significantly dirtier, meaner, and more unhinged in its execution. Shamaatae's vision reaches new heights of darkness here, combining his deep passion for metal with occult themes and ancient Swedish mysticism. The album stands as quite possibly the most primal sounding Arckanum release, with an attitude that boldly declares its uncompromising stance. This remastered vinyl edition, handled by Patrick W. Engel of Temple of Disharmony, preserves all the original's savage intensity while enhancing its sonic impact.
