What you get here is a record that balances razor-sharp riffing with the kind of layered, progressive sophistication that made Queensrÿche a household name in the first place. La Torre not only handles vocal duties with breathtaking range — from soaring highs to gritty, aggressive lows — but also steps behind the drum kit due to Scott Rockenfield's absence, and the result is nothing short of remarkable. The twin-guitar attack of Michael Wilton and Mike Stone weaves through tracks like "Blood of the Levant" and "Man the Machine" with surgical precision, while the rhythm section locks in tight. Lyrically, the album tackles social unrest, inner conflict, and resilience — themes that hit harder now than ever.
