Background information about 'Cycle Of Contempt'
Canadian thrash metal legends Razor return with vengeance on "Cycle Of Contempt", delivering twelve tracks of unrelenting aggression that prove these veterans haven't lost an ounce of their edge. From the opening salvo of "Flames of Hatred" to the crushing finale of "King Shit", this album showcases the band's signature blend of razor-sharp riffs, pummeling rhythms, and Dave Carlo's distinctive vocal snarl. The production captures that raw, unpolished energy that made Razor a cornerstone of the Canadian metal scene, while tracks like "Jabroni" and "Punch Your Face In" demonstrate their ability to craft memorable hooks within their sonic assault.
What makes "Cycle Of Contempt" particularly compelling is how it balances classic thrash sensibilities with a modern bite that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Songs like "First Rate Hate" and the title track "Cycle of Contempt" showcase the band's knack for writing anthemic choruses that stick in your head long after the final chord rings out. The album's pacing is expertly crafted, alternating between full-throttle barnburners and more groove-oriented cuts that allow the listener to catch their breath before the next assault begins.
For fans of: Exciter, Anvil, Sacrifice, and early Metallica
