No, SHINING make it their own, twisting it through their signature lens of jazz-tinged, depressive black metal. Then comes "Utan Dina Andetag", a cover of the iconic Swedish pop song by Kent. Yes, you read that right. And somehow, impossibly, it works. The raw, desperate vocals of Niklas Kvarforth turn a melancholic pop anthem into something utterly devastating. The original tracks — "Kung Av Jidder" and "Carnival Of Rust" — round out this peculiar and brilliant collection, showcasing the band's ability to swing between crushing black metal and haunting, almost beautiful melodies. This is SHINING at their most unpredictable, and that's exactly when they're at their best.
