Background information about 'Hulders Ritual'
The Norwegian black metal collective Slagmaur unleashes pure sonic sorcery with "Hulders Ritual", their fourth studio album that doesn't just push boundaries—it obliterates them entirely. This isn't your grandfather's tremolo-picked worship; this is black metal evolution in its most thrilling form. Working alongside Thorns mastermind Snorre W. Ruch as additional producer, the band's founder General Gribbsphiiser has crafted something that feels both ancient and futuristic, like discovering runes carved with laser precision.
What makes this release absolutely electrifying is how Slagmaur manages to honor the Norwegian tradition while injecting it with sardonic mania and twisted innovation. The guest appearances are nothing short of legendary—Taake's Hoest, Dimmu Borgir's Silenoz, and Misþyrming's D.G. each contribute their distinct voices to this ritual of darkness. From the opening assault of "Ritual Dogs" through the haunting "Huldergeist" to the crushing finale of "Rathkings", every track feels like a carefully orchestrated descent into beautiful madness. This is black metal for those who demand their darkness served with intelligence and their brutality seasoned with artistry.
