Background information about 'Der Brauch'
The Hirsch Effekt have carved out their own unique niche in the musical universe since their formation, and "Der Brauch" stands as their most ambitious and genre-defying statement yet. Where previous works, despite their versatility, still carried the metal album label, this release opens entirely new pathways that were already hinted at on their multifaceted sophomore effort "Holon Anamnesis". This isn't just evolution – it's revolution wrapped in familiar packaging.
"Der Brauch" could be understood as a return to that crossroads – and simultaneously a bold step forward into uncharted territory. The German progressive outfit has always been fascinating precisely because they resist easy categorization, and this double LP proves they're not about to start playing by conventional rules now. The album weaves intricate tapestries of sound that blur the lines between aggression and beauty, chaos and order, tradition and innovation. Each track builds upon the last, creating a cohesive journey that rewards both casual listeners and deep-dive enthusiasts.
