Background information about 'Urn'
What happens when you take the most ambitious progressive metal band from Australia and let them loose in the studio? You get "Urn", and trust me, this is Ne Obliviscaris at their most devastating and beautiful. This album doesn't just push boundaries – it obliterates them with the precision of a master craftsman and the fury of a wildfire.
From the opening moments of "Libera (Part I) – Saturnine Spheres", you're thrown into a whirlwind of technical mastery that would make even the most seasoned prog veterans weep. The way these Aussie legends weave violin melodies through crushing riffs is nothing short of miraculous. "Eyrie" stands as an 11-minute testament to their songwriting prowess, building tension like a coiled spring before releasing it in waves of pure sonic ecstasy. The title track's two-part structure showcases their ability to create epic narratives through music alone.
