Background information about 'Urn'
Australia's Ne Obliviscaris have always been masters of sonic architecture, but "Urn" represents their most emotionally devastating and technically brilliant statement yet. This isn't just another progressive metal album – it's a cathartic journey through loss, grief, and ultimately, transcendence. The Melbourne sextet weaves together crushing death metal brutality with moments of breathtaking beauty that'll leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about heavy music.
From the haunting violin passages that dance between blast beats to the way clean vocals soar above crushing riffs, every moment on "Urn" feels carefully crafted yet completely spontaneous. The album's six tracks span nearly 46 minutes of pure emotional intensity, with each composition building upon the last to create something genuinely transformative. This is progressive metal at its most adventurous – unafraid to embrace both darkness and light in equal measure.
