Background information about 'Biermächt'
Some records exist purely to be played at a volume that annoys the neighbours, and Wehrmacht's "Biermächt" is one of the finest examples of that noble tradition. This is crossover thrash at its most gleefully unhinged — the Portland crew taking the speed of the genre's heaviest hitters and dousing it in cheap lager, splatter-movie gore and a sense of humour that never once apologises for itself. The riffs come at you like a bar fight that started before you walked in, and the rhythm section simply refuses to slow down for anybody.
What makes "Biermächt" so endlessly replayable is how smart the dumb stuff is. Tracks like "The Beer Is Here! / Drink Beer Be Free" and "Beermacht" are anthems built for a sweaty basement show, while "Gore Flix" and "Radical Dissection" show a band that actually knew how to write a hook inside all that chaos. The production keeps the grit intact — nothing polished, nothing safe — and that's exactly the point. It sounds like a band having the time of their lives, and that energy is contagious from the first second to the last.
