Background information about 'The Somatic Defilement (Re-Release)'

Whitechapel's debut album, "The Somatic Defilement," is a pivotal offering that firmly entrenches them in the death metal scene. Released originally in 2007 and remastered in 2013, this album encapsulates the raw aggression and technical prowess that has become synonymous with their sound. With tracks like "Necrotizing" and the title track "The Somatic Defilement," listeners are thrust into a maelstrom of brutal riffs and guttural vocals. The album's lyrical themes delve into macabre narratives, exploring human depravity through a visceral lens.

Musically, the album is a sonic onslaught featuring intricate guitar work and relentless drumming that pushes boundaries within the genre. Tracks such as "Prostatic Fluid Asphyxiation" and "Vicer Exciser" demonstrate Whitechapel's ability to blend haunting atmospheres with ferocious speed, creating an auditory experience that is both punishing and captivating. This remastered version breathes new life into an already formidable release, sharpening its edges for both newcomers and long-time fans alike.
