Background information about 'Xes Haereticum'
Belgian black metal cultists ENTHRONED have returned from the abyss to unleash one of their most vicious offerings on wax, and it's about damn time. "XES Haereticum" is not just another reissue — it's a rabid, snarling beast that has been carefully remastered for vinyl, preserving every bit of its raw, cold aggression. Originally a cornerstone of the underground, this album cuts through the modern black metal landscape like a rusted blade, unapologetic and dripping with malice.
From the opening assault of "Crimson Legions" to the closing chaos of "Hellgium Messiah", this record never lets up. The production strikes that perfect balance between lo-fi grit and audible clarity, letting the tremolo-picked riffs and blastbeats breathe fire. Tracks like "Dance of a Thousand Knives (Moksha Bhakti)" and "Blacker than Black" showcase ENTHRONED at their most sinister, while "A.M.S.G." and "Demon's Claw" are pure ritualistic hatred carved into vinyl grooves. This is black metal that worships at the altar of the old guard — think early Mayhem, Darkthrone, and Marduk, but with a distinctly Belgian, venomous twist. A mandatory piece for any serious collector of cult black metal.
