Background information about 'Rotten Remains'
A decade has passed since Carnal Tomb unleashed their debut masterpiece "Rotten Remains" upon the death metal underground, and this anniversary reissue proves that some albums age like the finest decay. What started as a brutal statement from Berlin's most promising death metal outfit has evolved into a timeless monument of morbid excellence that still sounds absolutely devastating today. The band's approach to old school brutality was revolutionary from day one – they didn't just worship at the altar of classic death metal, they dragged it kicking and screaming into new depths of putrid glory.
Every track on "Rotten Remains" is a masterclass in controlled chaos, from the spine-chilling opener "Undead Dread" to the bone-crushing finale "Repulsive Mutilation". The production captures that perfect balance between raw aggression and clarity that allows every riff to slice through your skull like a rusty blade. This special turquoise vinyl edition with its frost effect perfectly complements the album's cold, morgue-like atmosphere, while César Valladares' revisited artwork adds another layer of macabre beauty to an already perfect package.
