Background information about 'Impassable Fears'

When Gravetemple unleashed "Impassable Fears" in 2017, they delivered something truly extraordinary – a haunting journey through the darkest corridors of extreme metal that still sends chills down spines today. This isn't just another doom/black metal release; it's a masterclass in atmospheric terror featuring the legendary Attila Csihar (Mayhem, Sunn O)))) on vocals and drum machine, Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O)))) wielding guitar, synth and mellotron, plus the brilliant Oren Ambarchi behind the kit.

The album's six tracks unfold like chapters in a nightmare, with Hungarian titles that translate the band's obsession with existential dread into sonic form. "A Szarka" opens proceedings with crushing weight, while the epic "Áthatolhatatlan Félelmek" (the title track) stretches across nearly ten minutes of pure atmospheric devastation. What makes this release so compelling is how it balances crushing heaviness with moments of eerie ambient beauty – O'Malley's mellotron work creates haunting soundscapes that complement Csihar's otherworldly vocal performances perfectly.
