By the year 2001, death metal was gasping for air. The genre that once birthed the most vile, filthy sounds imaginable had been neutered, sanitized, stripped of its menace. Enter Murder Squad — a band that didn't come to innovate, they came to desecrate. Featuring members from Swedish death metal royalty (ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, MERCILESS), these four degenerates shared one singular obsession: getting wasted and worshipping at the altar of AUTOPSY.

Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged is exactly what it says on the tin — a gloriously unhinged, foul-mouthed tribute to San Francisco's most depraved sons. From the first feedback-laced riff, Murder Squad make it crystal clear they couldn't care less about originality. This is pure, unadulterated worship of Reifert and co., executed with the kind of swagger and conviction that only seasoned scene veterans can pull off. The production is raw, the vocals are guttural, and the whole thing reeks of cheap beer and rotting corpses. It's ugly, it's nasty, and it's absolutely brilliant.
