Background information about 'Where The Snows Are Never Gone...'
From the frozen wasteland of Murmansk comes a masterpiece of pure, unadulterated black metal savagery. Old Wainds delivered their most barbaric statement with "Where The Snows Are Never Gone...", a debut full-length that stands as a monument to Arctic brutality. This isn't just another black metal album – it's a frozen scream from beyond the Arctic Circle that captures the essence of Russian winter in all its merciless glory.
The eight tracks showcase Old Wainds at their most unhinged and primitive, channeling the spirit of early Norwegian black metal while adding their own distinctly Russian flavor of hatred. Morok's inhuman vocals rank among the most insane and hate-filled ever committed to tape, while the barbaric hymns crush everything in their path with relentless ferocity. Remastered by Jack Control and Maor Appelbaum at Enormous Door, this reissue brings new clarity to the chaos while preserving the raw, uncompromising nature that made this album legendary.
