Aeons Untold arrives like something dragged up from a flooded cellar — damp, rotten and absolutely gripping. Slithering Decay deal in old-school death metal with a doom-soaked pulse, the kind of riffs that don't so much attack as ooze forward, all downtuned churn and cavernous reverb. There's a real sense of craft here: the guitars trade filthy tremolo passages with slow, crushing breakdowns, while the rhythm section keeps everything lurching at a wonderfully unhealthy tempo.
