The journey here wasn't easy. Written during a transformative period, the breakthrough came during a late-night session in a remote mountain cabin with "From These Woods" — a track that essentially unlocked the emotional core of everything that followed. The title track carries deeply personal weight, written as bassist Jarle Kvåle's tribute to Ozzy Osbourne after witnessing Black Sabbath's farewell in Birmingham. Meanwhile, "Kraken" showcases their cinematic ambitions, composed for a major film project, while "Loving the Dead" features a stunning guest performance from Agnete Kjølsrud of Djerv that pushes the band into uncharted territory. Hand-drawn artwork by Kim Holm and production by Anders Nordengen complete this focused, expressive masterpiece.
