Background information about 'Beswærilsin'
Shamaatae has never been a man of half measures, and "Beswærilsin" arrives as the fullest statement of that stubbornness yet — a complete magical working rather than a mere collection of songs. Everything under the Arckanum banner has always been an extension of his Thursian practice, and here music, words, sound and artwork were forged as one ritual body. The lyrics are written in Old Swedish, drawing on Old Norse and Swedish poetic tradition and folded through elements of Swedish svartkonst, so they land like mythic charms and narrative incantations rather than verses to sing along to.
Sonically this is the rawest, most feral Arckanum has sounded in years. The production is deliberately unpolished, stripped of ornament, and it swings between the freezing storms of Niflheimr and the blazing fury of Múspellsheimr — cold and searing in the same breath, primitive yet remarkably dynamic. Old foundations meet Shamaatae's current compositional instincts, and the result feels like a ritual carried out in real time: confrontational, outsider, utterly uncompromising. It's the sound of the Left-Hand Path set to riffs.
