Background information about 'Beswærilsin'

Twenty-three years after "Kampen", Arckanum returns with "Beswærilsin" — and it lands like a hammer blow from a world that never stopped burning. Shamaatae has always treated his music as a magical working rather than mere entertainment, and this record is the fullest expression of that idea yet: lyrics written in Old Swedish, drawing on Old Norse and Swedish svartkonst traditions, shaped into mythic charms and narrative incantations that invoke the Thursian current. Nothing here is decoration. Every element serves the ritual.

The sound is deliberately feral and unpolished, stripped of ornament and pushed to the edge of control. It moves between the freezing storms of Niflheimr and the blazing fury of Múspellsheimr — cold and searing at once, primitive yet remarkably dynamic. What strikes hardest is how the album fuses the band's older foundations with Shamaatae's present compositional approach, so the raw aggression of the early days sits beside a sharper, more deliberate craft. Tracks like the opener and the hypnotic closer show a project still evolving, still refusing conformity, still walking the Left-Hand Path as the outsider, the vargar, beyond imposed order.

For anyone who has followed this project since the nineties, "Beswærilsin" is not nostalgia — it is a statement of intent, a complete magical working committed to tape. Essential listening for those who take their black metal seriously and without compromise.
