The 1995 debut "Ultima Thulée" initiated Blut Aus Nord's bold journey toward transcendence through Black Metal, marking one of the first albums to emerge from the now-legendary French underground scene. This groundbreaking release showcases a cold and primitive yet uniquely atmospheric sound that differs from the twisted, dissonant trailblazer evident on the band's more recent releases. The album captures Blut Aus Nord in their rawest form, delivering an uncompromising vision of Black Metal that would later influence countless bands within the French scene.

This reissue presents the ground-breaking decadence of "Ultima Thulée" with artwork as close as possible to the original release and features the original audio master, preserving the authentic atmosphere that made this album so influential. The cold, hypnotic soundscapes and primitive yet sophisticated songwriting demonstrate why Blut Aus Nord became such an important force in the evolution of atmospheric Black Metal, setting the foundation for their later experimental works.
