Background information about 'Thoughts'

There is something wonderfully stubborn about a record that refuses to hand you a comfortable entry point. Dismal open "Thoughts" with "Gedanken Zur Gedankenlosigkeit" and immediately set the terms: cold, deliberate, and utterly unhurried. This is black metal that thinks before it strikes, and when it does strike, the blow lands somewhere behind the ribs rather than in the pit of the stomach. The guitars are thin and razored, the drums push rather than pummel, and the vocals sit buried just deep enough that you keep leaning in, trying to catch words that seem to dissolve the moment you reach them.

What makes this album stick is the way it breathes. Tracks like "Sinnesrausch" and "Whispers Tell" trade raw tremolo passages for strange, almost melodic detours, and the title track "Thoughts" is the kind of slow-burning centrepiece that rewards patience over volume. "Suche Nach Dem Glänzend Verborgenen" and "Kraftlose Kraft" carry a distinctly German melancholy, all frost and introspection, while the closing instrumental "Sommerregen" drifts out like rain on a window you forgot was open. Nothing here is showy. Nothing here is trying to impress you. It simply exists, and that quiet confidence is exactly why it lingers long after the last note fades.
