Founded by former Emperor bassist Tchort in the early '90s, this Norwegian outfit has never been one to play it safe — weaving through progressive metal, doom-laden atmospheres, and acoustic elegance like it's the most natural thing in the world.

The idea for a trilogy has been kicking around since the band's earliest days, and now, finally, it sees the light of day. Lead single "In Your Paradise" hits with a crushing heaviness that recalls their most ferocious moments, yet it's swept away by sublime riffs and symphonic flourishes that feel both triumphant and tragic. The title track conjures scarlet clouds of war, while "Too Close to the Flame" plunges into Floydian depths of paranoia before erupting in second wave black metal fury. Kjetil Nordhus delivers a career-defining vocal performance — impassioned, clean, and utterly commanding, like a captain tied to the mast as the ship goes down in flames.
