The Norwegians have done it again. Green Carnation close their monumental trilogy "A Dark Poem" with the crushing, breathtaking "The Messiah Complex" — the third and final chapter of a saga that's been brewing for over two decades. Founded by former Emperor bassist Tchort, this band has always walked their own path, weaving symphonic doom, progressive metal, hard rock, and acoustic melancholy into something uniquely theirs. And now? They've pulled off the grand finale.

The album is a beast. Opening with "Unconditional Artificial Chemistry", it grabs you by the throat before the title track "The Messiah Complex" unfolds its 6-minute tapestry of shifting moods and metallic weight. "Broken Souls, Common Enemies" stretches out into nearly nine minutes of pure catharsis. And then there's the closer — "A Dark Poem - Orchestral Suite", a 16-minute orchestral behemoth that brings the entire trilogy to a close with cinematic grandeur. Inspired by Arthur Rimbaud's ode to Ophelia, this is ambitious, emotional, and utterly uncompromising. From black metal fury to aching balladry, every side of Green Carnation is on full display. Artwork by Niklas Sundin adds the perfect visual companion to this sonic journey.
