Background information about 'Exsequiis'
Australian thrash metal has always had a distinct, raw edge to it, and Harlott are back to prove that the flame is still burning hotter than ever. With Exsequiis, these veterans of the underground deliver a record that grabs you by the throat from the very first riff and doesn't let go until the final feedback fades. This isn't your polished, modern thrash – this is dirty, aggressive, and absolutely relentless. The guitar work is a masterclass in razor-sharp riffing, blending classic Bay Area influences with that unmistakable Australian grit. Tracks like “The Burning” and “Ashes to Ashes” hit with the force of a sledgehammer, while the rhythm section locks into grooves that are both punishing and surprisingly dynamic. There's a sense of urgency here, a feeling that every note matters. Harlott haven't just written an album; they've crafted a statement. It's angry, it's intelligent, and it's the kind of thrash that makes you want to start a pit in your living room. The production is raw but powerful, giving the drums a thunderous presence and the vocals a desperate, snarling edge. If you've been craving thrash that feels dangerous again, Exsequiis is exactly what the doctor ordered.
