Background information about 'The Circle (Re-Release)'
Heretoir return with a stunning re-release of their monumental album The Circle – and it hits just as hard, just as beautifully as the day it first saw the light of day. This is not just another blackgaze record; this is a deeply emotional, cathartic journey through the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. From the very first notes, you're sucked into a world where crushing heaviness meets atmospheric dreaminess – a tightrope walk between raw aggression and fragile beauty that few bands master as effortlessly as these Germans.
What makes The Circle so special is its emotional sincerity. This isn't polished, sterile production – it's raw, breathing, alive. The guitars shimmer and blast in equal measure, the drums hit with urgency, and the vocals range from desperate screams to haunting clean passages. The album features guest vocals by none other than Alcest mastermind Stéphane "Neige" Paut, which adds an extra layer of ethereal magic. Mastered by Lasse Lammert, the sound is warm, organic, and massive. The gorgeous cover art by Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets) perfectly captures the album's essence – dark yet luminous, melancholic yet hopeful. This re-release includes the bonus track "Golden Dust - Acoustic Version", making it an essential piece for collectors and newcomers alike. A life dedicated to the sun and to freedom – that's what The Circle sounds like.
