Background information about 'Dark Waters Stir'
Norwegian black metal pioneers Isvind deliver a haunting masterpiece with "Dark Waters Stir", an expanded edition of their legendary 1996 debut that showcases the raw, uncompromising spirit of Oslo's underground scene. This isn't just another reissue – it's a complete sonic journey that captures the essence of mid-90s Scandinavian black metal at its most authentic and atmospheric.
The album weaves together icy tremolo melodies with crushing rhythmic passages, creating an otherworldly soundscape that feels both ancient and timeless. Each track builds upon the last, forming a cohesive narrative that plunges listeners deep into Nordic folklore and mysticism. The expanded edition includes the tracks from their self-titled 7" EP, making this the definitive collection of Isvind's early work.
