The German black/thrash duo Nocturnal Witch delivered something truly special with "Summoning Hell", their punk-infused and wickedly catchy debut that has rightfully earned its status as an underground classic. Originally released in 2014, this beast was recorded in just five days at Black Magic Studios in Ilmenau, capturing the raw energy that vocalist/guitarist Tyrant and drummer Baphomet channeled from their desolate rehearsal space - a former office complex in the middle of nowhere that perfectly matched the grim atmosphere they were crafting.

With galloping highlights like "Among the Ruins of the Past" and "Black Death", the album pays obvious homage to genre pioneers Venom and early Bathory, yet maintains its own distinct personality through infectious hooks and relentless aggression. The production work by Patrick W. Engel gives the material the perfect balance of clarity and filth, while tracks like "Hellfire Cult" and "Storm of Violence" showcase the band's ability to write memorable anthems without sacrificing their underground credibility.
