Background information about 'Seen Through the Eyes of a Paedophile Priest'
Norwegian black metal outfit Sarkom delivers a devastating punch with this controversial two-track EP that showcases their uncompromising approach to extreme metal. The title track "Seen Through the Eyes of a Paedophile Priest" demonstrates the band's ability to craft atmospheric yet brutally aggressive soundscapes, while maintaining the raw production values that define classic Norwegian black metal. The song builds tension through dissonant guitar work and relentless drumming, creating an unsettling atmosphere that perfectly complements the provocative subject matter.
The B-side features a cover of Urgehal's "Goatcraft Torment," paying homage to their fellow Norwegian black metal pioneers. Sarkom's interpretation maintains the original's ferocious energy while adding their own distinctive touch to the composition. This EP serves as a perfect introduction to the band's sound for newcomers while offering longtime fans a glimpse into their ability to both create original material and respectfully interpret the work of their contemporaries.
For fans of: Urgehal, Darkthrone, Mayhem and 1349
