Recorded south of Bergen, deep in the moss-covered forests around the island of Borgøy, the album breathes the landscape that once inspired the doomed painter Lars Hertervig. There is a raw, elemental quality to these recordings, built less on studio polish and more on intuition, patience, and a masterful command of the basics. Reckless thrashing riffs collide with brooding gloom, chilling melodies rise out of violent intensity, and moments of desolate reflection give way to untamed aggression.
