Background information about 'Silent Feeble Cries'
"Silent Feeble Cries" is the sound of a band deliberately loosening its own foundations and letting something wilder grow through the cracks. The Great Sea don't tear down what they built on their earlier records; they push it outwards, sharpening the aggression until it cuts, then letting melancholy seep in where you least expect it. The result is a record that feels restless and alive, never content to settle into one mood for too long.
Much of the vocal cast carries over, with lead vocalist A. once again flanked by Azathoth (Gràb, ex-Dark Fortress) and Phil "sG" Jonas (Crone, ex-Secrets Of The Moon) — a lineup that gives the album real weight and texture. But the arrival of Pelle Åhman (ex-In Solitude) on the opener "Thirteen Moons" is the moment the record opens a new door, his voice lending those first minutes a strange, immersive pull that colours everything that follows. Lyrically the band stays fixed on the tangled relationship between humanity and nature, embracing ecstatic madness alongside decay, corruption and decline. It's heavy, it's atmospheric, and it never feels like a retread.
