Berlin's death metal maniacs Carnal Tomb are back with a vengeance. Their third full-length Embalmed In Decay is a rancid, riff-packed slab of old school death metal that grabs you by the throat from the very first second and doesn't let go until the last chord decays into silence.

What makes this record so damn compelling is how effortlessly the Germans blend the classic Swedish and Florida death metal sounds into something that feels fresh without betraying the genre's roots. The blasts are relentless, the grooves are filthy, and those doom-laden passages hit like a shovel to the face. Tracks like "The Putridarium" and "Defiled Flesh" showcase a band that has honed their craft to a razor's edge — shorter, more focused songs that cut straight to the bone.

Lyrically, the band draws from H.P. Lovecraft's cosmic horror, classic zombie flicks like Amando de Ossorio's Tombs of the Blind Dead, and the grim reality of Italian 'putridarium' funeral chambers where corpses were left to rot. The cover artwork by Skaðvaldur captures this morbid aesthetic perfectly — a visual feast for anyone who loves their death metal with a side of genuine dread.
