"The Last Will and Testament" is a concept record of sorts. A restless musical journey in a way mirroring my own relationship with music as a consumer of it," narrates band leader Mikael Åkerfeldt. "I pick up something here, dismiss something there. I worship and I hate music at the same time. This ambivalence leads me down some type of creative path of my own and then, all of a sudden, a collection of songs has been written. Best case scenario, these songs are good enough to impress the band. Good enough for the "powers that be" in terms of the industry. Good enough for "you"?! I love this record. I have to say it (write it). Maybe I'm proud even? There are some familiar ingredients in there I suppose. Most of our music has sprung from the same source, so I guess it's not much of a shocker if it's going to sound like "us". I'm a bit in awe of what we did with "The Last Will and Testament". It feels like a dream. There is some "coherence" and "songwriting skills" I hope, but what do I know? I tend to favour the "strange" over the "obvious", but I feel like I'm in the minority, and that's fine. So…fair warning! Don't expect an instant rush (as per usual), but if you do "get it" (have you got it yet?) right away, that's ok too!"

About the album
Daedric Shryne is a heavy metal band hailing from Hamburg, Germany, formed in 2020. Inspired by a deep passion for heavy metal, the band merges hardcore and crossover influences with a touch of nostalgia from a certain early 2000s video game. The band's members have an extensive background in the metal scene, having been part of various acts such as Deathbearer, Heretoir, Voldt, Majak, King Apathy, Emissary of Suffering, The Cold, and Volditorium. Their debut album is a testament to their diverse musical roots and the unique energy they bring to the genre.
The recording lineup for Daedric Shryne features Nils Groth on drums and backing vocals, Alex Shirazi as the lead vocalist and synth player, André Büchner on rhythm and lead guitars, bass, synths, and piano, and Frederic Eden adding dive bombs and backing vocals. All music and lyrics are written by the band, showcasing their creative unity and collective vision. Their sound is characterized by heavy riffs, dynamic tempo changes, and intense lyrical themes, ranging from battles and inner conflicts to dark reflections of power and downfall, as depicted in tracks like “Awakening” and “Dominion.”
Produced by David Deutsch at 1408 Productions, the album’s raw and unfiltered sound captures the essence of the band’s aggressive yet intricate style. The band’s logo, created by Johannes Horas, and the cover art by Philipp Kruse perfectly complement the band's intense and thematic narrative. With their debut, Daedric Shryne positions itself as a formidable force in the heavy metal landscape, promising a relentless pursuit of musical intensity and storytelling.

On the third regular PAYSAGE D'HIVER album "Die Berge" ('The Mountains'), mastermind Wintherr has perfectly captured the dark essence of his mountainous Swiss home beyond those pretty picture postcard landscapes. Ragged peaks that unfathomable tectonic forces have crushed upwards and out of the thin cold crust of this planet create a harsh and hostile environment for humans, which is reflected within the sound of raw black metal. Note for note, these grey giants of rock come awake to life in song. Majestic, powerful, dangerous, threatening, and yet also inherent of a fierce beauty, these massive tracks of epic length echo the huge proportions of their source of inspiration and amount to a playing time of more than 100 minutes. With each release, PAYSAGE D'HIVER narrate a new chapter of a continuing story about a mysterious protagonist called 'Der Wanderer'. "Die Berge" takes the wanderer into the 14th chapter, which might end up as his last. The main theme of "Die Berge" is death and this time the enigmatic wanderer's journey is comparable to that of a Zen monk who hikes to the peak of a mountain on feeling that his time has come. Founded in 1997 in the Swiss region of Bern, PAYSAGE D'HIVER remained a strictly underground phenomenon at first. Wintherr unleashed a steady stream of 10 full-length "demos" and 4 split-EPs that earned him an excellent reputation while a massive following grew by word of mouth. When the Swiss came "out of hiding" with "Im Wald" ("In the Forest") in 2020, their regular debut album even entered the German charts, which meant mainstream recognition despite standing firmly with both feet in the underground. With "Die Berge", PAYSAGE D'HIVER continue to expand the horizon of Nordic black metal without ever stepping away from their roots.

"Schnee" ("snow") is omnipresent in the works of Swiss black metal artist Wintherr a.k.a. Paysage D'Hiver and turned into a four-part song cycle, released piece by piece on the compilation LP "Wurzelgeister" ('Schnee II', 2002) and on split records with Vinterriket ('Schnee I', 2003), Nordlicht and Drudkh ('Schnee III' and 'Schnee IV', 2017).
All four tracks - created within a time span of almost 20 years and dealing with different facets of the frozen element - are now available together for the first time ever. They have been partly remixed and wholly remastered specially for this release.

About the album
"Necrolution" is a retrospective, nostalgic album, that turns back time to the late 80s and early 90s era of death metal. Recapturing the essence and style of death metal that was the original formula. Recreating the aesthetic feeling of something from the original style and sound to represent to these modern times. It’s purposefully meant to sound dated as it represents an era of early death metal music. It purposefully does not mimic the band's own original style but rather reflects the styles of many early era bands that influenced generations in death metal music.
Commented by Kam Lee: "With «Necrolution» the idea was to evolve the band's sound by devolving it. Unlike many bands in death metal that attempt to modernize and update their style and sound to emulate many of the modern contemporary death metal bands, we wanted to go back to the origin. The original sound and style. We wanted to make an album that sounds like it could have come out of the late 80s. The entire concept was to create something that was a de-evolution of the death metal genre and go back to an early style reminiscent of the past. Going back 40 years into the past to immolate the style of death metal that was predominantly influenced by thrash and heavy metal bands of the era. Lyrically it’s still entrenched in the horror genre and influenced by HP Lovecraft stories. We even have three tracks directly dedicated and influenced by the director Stewart Gordon, the filmmaker who was directly responsible for bringing Lovecraft films to horror movies in the 80s. The overall idea was to bring a 1980s aesthetic to the music that’s influenced by 1980s music as well as horror movie genre at the time. My hope is that fans find a unique experience when listening to «Necrolution» that not only encapsulates the feeling of 80s nostalgia but makes them appreciate the way the era influenced the death metal genre at the time."
"Necrolution" was recorded at DOA studios, Full S Studios & Gojiden Studio in Florida (USA) and mixed and mastered by Jonny Pettersson at Studio Unbound in Sweden. The cover artwork was painted by Timbul Cahyono of Bvllmetalart. Mark Riddick (Arch Enemy, Autopsy, Morbid Angel) created the merchandise designs. The recording personnel for the new album - much of whom have been with MASSACRE since the "Resurgence" era - comprises, aside from Kam Lee, original MASSACRE bassist Mike Borders, returning guitarists Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Rib Spreader, Megascavanger) & Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath, Heads for The Dead), and new drummer, Jon Rudin (Just Before Dawn, Heads for The Dead, Dehumanaut). The band features a separate session line-up for live performances, which consists of Carlos Gonzalez (Grim Reality) on guitars, Elden Santos (Druid Lord) on drums and Tim Wilson on bass.
Formed in 1984, MASSACRE started out as a heavy/power metal band, but changed its style to death metal with the joining of Allen West and Kam Lee; the latter is often credited for inventing the "death growl" - first heard on the band’s 1986 demo "Aggressive Tyrant" - and is considered an influential pioneer as far as the death metal genre is concerned. The group went through several personnel shifts and disbandments over the years - with its early line-up toggling between MASSACRE, Mantas (early Death) and Death - to a triumphant return in 2021, with their last studio album "Resurgence".

About the album
“Traurige Trinkerlieder” stands for itself. Hymns dedicated to alcohol. Sardonic songs of praise. Sung in a musty, shabby pub where the people are as old as the stories they tell, the tables are sticky, the light is a flickering, oily twitch and the landlord is the unfriendliest person for miles around.
“Traurige Trinkerlieder” was recorded at Fleetenkieker's home in the summer of 2024, mixed by Patrick Urban (NatureSound Recordings) and mastered by Markus Stock (Klangschmiede Studio E).

About the album
The fourth Bonjour Tristesse album “The World Without Us” concludes a two-album spanning concept that began with the bands third release. The two records feature a radical critique of our industrialized modern age, highlighting the conflict between civilized humanity and nature. As the sole songwriter, Nathanael brings this cycle to a powerful end, offering a mix of raw violence, interspersed melodies, and manic vocals. The album critiques the destructive impact of industrialized civilization, painting a bleak picture of our dystopian reality.
“The World Without Us” combines raw aggression with melodic elements, often swinging towards frenzy while maintaining an oppressive feeling with plaintive and powerful vocals. The references to anti-civilization thinkers and existentialist writers add a slightly poetic note to the album and bring more depth to powerful message behind Bonjour Tristesse.

About the album
"Free-thinking, free-form grindcore from the grind majors that dismantles religious burden myth-by-myth"
Napalm Death's "Smear Campaign," released in 2006, stands as a powerful statement against religious dogma and societal oppression. This album delivers free-thinking, free-form grindcore from the grind majors that dismantles religious burden myth-by-myth. With its relentless energy and incisive lyrics, "Smear Campaign" continues the band's tradition of merging ferocious soundscapes with thought-provoking themes.
The album opens with "Weltschmerz (Intro)," setting a dark, ominous tone that quickly escalates into a barrage of blast beats, distorted riffs, and Barney Greenway's unmistakable growls. Tracks like "Sink Fast, Let Go" and "Fatalist" exemplify the band's ability to combine speed and aggression with intricate musicality and lyrical depth. The inclusion of guest vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering) on "In Deference" adds a haunting melodic layer, contrasting sharply with the album's brutal intensity.
"Smear Campaign" is not just an auditory assault but a call to question and dismantle the oppressive structures upheld by religious and political institutions. For fans of extreme music, this album is a testament to Napalm Death's enduring relevance and their unwavering commitment to challenging the status quo through grindcore.

ZAKK SABBATH are back with an even more massive dose of pure BLACK SABBATH worship! Celebrating more than 50 years of Birmingham's most famous four, the 'inventors' of heavy metal are being honoured by the preeminent tribute trio led by guitarist and singer Zakk Wylde with the double album "Doomed Forever Forever Doomed". This loving tribute contains the Americans' brilliant take on BLACK SABBATH's second and third full-lengths, the classic heavy metal masterpieces "Paranoid" (1970) and "Master of Reality" (1971). ZAKK SABBATH were founded by BLACK LABEL SOCIETY guitarist and singer Zakk Wylde, who is widely renowned for his many years as lead guitarist for OZZY OSBOURNE and now PANTERA. After initially only performing live with rotating members, ZAKK SABBATH solidified a stable cast with the addition of OZZY OSBOURNE and ROB ZOMBIE bass player Blasko and Joey Castillo on drums (also of DANZIG and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE). Inspired by the 50th anniversary of BLACK SABBATH's self-titled debut full-length, ZAKK SABBATH released a tribute to this monumental heavy metal milestone under the title "Vertigo" in 2020. The album was heaped with praise from critics and fans alike. The trio scored a massive global success as witnessed by impressive Billboard chart entries such as #5 on the US Hard Music chart, #7 on the Current Rock Albums chart and #27 on the Billboard Top Albums chart alongside #1 in Metal Albums in France and #3 on the German Album chart, as well as #9 on the UK Top 40 Rock/Metal chart among others. Pure passion for classic metal has driven ZAKK SABBATH to erect an even more monolithic monument to BLACK SABBATH than before with the double album "Doomed Forever Forever Doomed". Time to bang heads again to these beautifully revisited songs that easily rank among the most influential and consequential ever composed by humans!
