"Nektar - Teil I (Zwölf Monde, eine Handvoll Träume)" stands as Nocte Obducta's sixth release and their most epic statement to date. This isn't your typical concept album - while the four seasons serve as thematic inspiration for the four exceptionally long compositions plus intro, there's no continuous narrative binding them together. Instead, each piece exists as its own seasonal meditation, delivered entirely in German as is the band's tradition. The material, crafted between 1994 and 2000, showcases the band's remarkable ability to weave their early 90s black metal DNA into something far more expansive and ambitious.

What makes this release truly captivating is how naturally Nocte Obducta balances atmospheric black and death metal passages with solemn, contemplative moments. The progressive elements never feel forced or identity-compromising - they're organic extensions of the band's core sound. Complex musical structures unfold with the patience of changing seasons themselves, while the production from Maranis Studios provides the monumental sound these compositions demand. The band promises that "Nektar - Teil II" will follow in January 2005, creating a retrospective first half and a forward-looking second half that deliberately leaves questions about their future direction unanswered.
